About Kevin Moloney

When it comes to starting out in the record biz, few people have the same story as Kevin Moloney.

As the House Recording Engineer for Windmill Lane Studios in Dublin, Kevin was part of the team that worked on — not one — but the first FIVE albums from U2. Juggling orchestral recordings of up to 70 musicians, along with film and video post-production; and live radio theater production Windmill Lane was a crucible that helped forge one of the most well-rounded engineers in the biz.

Striking out on his own as a freelance record producer/live sound engineer/project coordinator in London, Moloney’s had the chance to work with another musical luminary, Sinead O’Connor, as producer/sound engineer on her debut album, “The Lion and the Cobra.” That album would go on to achieve double platinum status. While in London, his clients also included some of the most well-known labels of all time, including Island, Polygram and Capital Records. His productions spanned the globe with projects utilizing his talents in Japan, Australia, Canada, Hawaii, the US, and the UK. His in-studio and on-location budgets reached to a quarter-million dollars and his productions resulted in sales over six million units, with a gross value of over 90 million dollars.

Going from strength to strength, Kevin then joined Frank McDonough Management in LA where he continued producing while adding post-production cred to his already impressive skill set. Here he handled more major clients including Sony Records, Columbia Artists, RCA, BMG, A&M, Warner Brothers, EMI, and Universal Records.

After some time off to raise five well-rounded and well-educated children, Kevin has once again returned to the music business, producing the first solo record from Appalachian recording phenom, Anya Hinkle .

He is currently accepting new clients.
